There are a variety of weapons available in Clockwork Empires. Soldiers as well as bandits and fishpeople can carry weapons.

Most firearms (including the Spine Gun) need to be reloaded after each shot, with the exception of the Revolver and Carbine. Colonists without the Military Training trait reload firearms only half as quickly as professional soldiers.[1] No colonists will ever use Fishman weapons.

Some weapons require combat supplies in order to be fired and some have mounted bayonets that can be used in melee. As of February, 2015 and beyond soldiers will only equip pistols, even if pistols have been marked as forbidden items they will often be seen to take pistols from red forbidden lots in stockpiles. There is no fix offered for this as of 23 January, 2016 (0.47).
