New Sogwood is the tropical starting colony location. It features massive swamps and plenty trees. It has plentiful of fungus that serves as a valuable source of food for a budding colony. It is not possible to make pies on this map, due to no Wheat, however Coconut Curry can be made to serve the same role as extremely nutritious item to quench the hunger of the colonists.
It is seen as the harder map because fishpeople raids are more frequent here as well as lesser availability of Logs. The latter is due to most of the trees being Palms or coconut palms. Palms does not give as much wood as for instance Tropical Broadleaf and the coconut palm does not give any at all.
